Who are we? What is happiness? Why do we suffer? These are questions as old as the human race itself, in which we seem to be eternally seeking their answers. In this life, we’re so often seeking outside of ourselves as to what ails us or what’s going to make us happy and fulfilled, wherein we’re living our life’s purpose. But these answers can only be found within us, where they’ve always been, so often hidden from view because we’ve been looking in all the wrong places. To understand who we are, we must first know how we came to be. In Eastern mysticism, there are what are called the 12 Links of Dependent Origination, what outline the 12 stages in our development from a state of unawareness in the womb to a state of fully-formed self-identity, to old age and death to re-birth once again. A 12 Session Program to re-claim our Joy and Inner Peace Session #1: Ignorance. I just get so sick of being sick. Session #2: Motivation. Awakening to your divine purpose is the antidote to all that ails. Session #3: Consciousness. Don’t get lost in your senses! Session #4: Name-and-form. Words are just shadows of the truth. Session #5: The Six Senses. Let the senses be! Session #6: Sense Impressions. Our emotions are enlightenment itself. Session #7: Feeling. Acceptance is the elixir of all alchemy. Session #8: Desire. Sorrow transforms bliss into clarity. Session #9: Attachment. Be a child of illusion. Session #10: Becoming. When our shadow disappears, the work is done. Session #11: Birth. Undoing the knots of our past: purifying karma. Session #12: Old Age and Death. Awareness of impermanence is Awareness itself. In each session, we’ll address each of these 12 links successively, in so doing unraveling the issues that obscure our sense of innermost Being, so that we can begin to re-connect again with our inner knowing, our Gnosis, the clarity of wisdom that lives in us all, and our deepest happiness shining like the sun from within its diamond-center. So often in our lives we make decisions based on what others think, what social mores dictate, how the herd mentality is trending, and the like. It’s all external. Determining your own inner wisdom is the antidote to this. In the 12 Links Sessions we explore what this looks like.
